How psycho are you?

Several guesses about the reason the girl murdered her sister were

  • Her sister was named the main beneficiary in her mother’s will
  • The sister appeared to be the murderer of the mother
  • The sister stole the phone number, dated the boy and was assassinated out of jealousy
  • The boy was actually the boyfriend of the sister

None of the above is correct. There is no connection between the boy and the sister whatsoever. He’s a total stranger to both of the girls. The only link between the boy and the girl, is the funeral of a relative. Hence, in order to regain the phone number of the boy, she has to activate that only link, which can be done by killing her sister and then hope the boy will appear on this funeral too. FnH found it, perhaps using the Internet, hopefully by using only his head.

It isn’t clear whether she’s autistic and by default, autistic people don’t commit murders, but sure enough she’s psychopatic.

I was told this story isn’t just a story. It appears to be a psychological test, developed by a famous psychologist, used to test if one has the same mentality as a killer. It is said that many arrested serial killers could answer this question correctly.

Scary hint: I managed to find the answer in 5 minutes, without knowing any clue of the answer in advance. It’s funny, ’cause I don’t have anything of a psychopath in me – not that I know. I asked this question to several other people and my conclusion is that it merely tests the ability to see connections and to filter important information out.

While searching for the name of this famous psychologist, I noticed this story has been copied to a huge amount of websites and forums and all of them end the same way, all of them mention the “famous American psychologist” but none of them actually mention a name. Until one page shows me it isn’t really a psychological test. So it is just a story, and it explains immediately the sentence “If you got the answer correct, please let me know so I can take you off of my email list unless that will tick you off, then I’ll just be extra nice to you from now on.” which can be read throughout the Internet: Just another e-mail forward. The magic of the story dissapears at once, but it is still a cool story to tell at family parties or reunions.

lol … I didn’t use the internet to look for the answer. I thought the story to be weird enough to be invented by you.
In fact, the ‘real’ reason was the first reason that I came up with as well, but I decided to try and be funny and suggest a few other, more logical reasons first, thinking that it was fairly obvious that you expected people to answer with the ultimately correct reason.
By the time I made the comment with the real reason though, I wasn’t so convinced anymore because it doesn’t state anywhere that the boy was attending the same funeral, which is why I added the assumption that the girl had to have made a strange connection in her head.
So … quite psycho it seems. Not that that comes as a surprise to anybody 🙂

It isn’t stated directly that the boy is attending the same funeral, indeed. However, there is written that Between the crowd, there is a boy strolling around. If there is a crowd on a graveyard, it is because

    • there is a funeral going on
    • there is a witch-convention going on

This story is about the first option and it states that a funeral is going on, not two.
So in fact, you can easily assume there’s only one funeral going on and the boy is attending it.

(thinking a little further is good, but don’t think too far)
