Everything has a reason

Once upon a time, a brother and a sister wanted to get a website online. Just for fun, without a particular reason. Since both of them were captured by the Pottermania, it would be cool to pick a name that referred to a term or character of the Potter books. But after all, it should be a name that would last, so that would be referring to the names of the brother and the sister. So this is the part where the father breaks in and came up with bermione.

The name clearly refers to Hermione Granger, the Muggle-born witch and friend of Harry. And “bermi” is actually referring to the first names of the brother and the sister. This way, bermione was born and is thus pronounced as “bur-my-oh-nee” and not “bur-me-1″.
